I wrote a prologue, for all you people wondering what Marina was doing before she came in out of the rain in Chapter 1. It didn't make it into the final book, but here it is, in glory. Ok, do yourself a favor before you read this and READ THE BOOK. SPOILERS REALLY FOLLOW. BEWARE!

This has precious little literary value, this early scribble, but I think it is interesting to see how work evolves. Also, and I can't stress this enough: writing a book is a PROCESS. Good scenes, good chapters, good novels do not just leap fully formed from your skull (or perhaps they do for some people but not for me. It's WORK. Lots of work). This is a sample of an early draft. Again, SPOILERS. Also, the actual chapter one is better, read that too.
